Osaka City emergency benefit to help with the rising price of electricity, gas, and food, etc.

Osaka City will provide 30,000 yen per household to households exempt
from inhabitants tax that are particularly hard hit by the increase
in financial burden of the rising price of electricity, gas, and food, etc.
Application procedures for households confirmed as being eligible to receive payment
- （１）Thursday, July 20 and Friday, July 21, 2023
- "Notice of Payment" has been sent
(1) Households to which a "Notice of Payment" has been sent
Payments finished mid-August 2023
- （２）From July 27, 2023 (Thursday)
- "Confirmation Letter" has been sent
(2) Households to which a "Confirmation Letter" will be sent
Payment will be made roughly one month after returning the "Confirmation Letter"
*Some households exempt from inhabitants tax may not receive a "Notice of Payment" or "Confirmation Letter" and may need to apply for the benefit.
Benefit counters at ward offices
Ended on October 20th (Friday).
Watch out for bank transfer scams and personal information scams relating to the emergency benefit to help with the rising price of electricity, gas, and food, etc.!
Municipal and government employees NEVER ask residents to use an ATM or transfer cash in order to receive benefits such as this emergency benefit.
Please contact your local city, ward, town, or village office, the nearest police station, or the police hotline line (#9110) if you receive a suspicious phone call or mail at home or at work pretending to be from a prefectural, municipal or government employee.
